Monki came first — a fiercely independent Shiba Inu with opinions about everything, especially what she wears. She refused every collar from the pet shop. Too stiff. Too plain. Too boring. So her owner started making them instead, and Monki finally approved. That stubborn little nod of acceptance is where Monko Paws began.

Cola arrived two years later and immediately became Monki's biggest fan — and biggest annoyance. Where Monki is selective, Cola is enthusiastic. She'll wear anything, model anything, and chew anything she shouldn't. She brings the chaos, the cuddles, and the irresistible energy that makes every photoshoot a complete disaster and an absolute joy.

A collar, a refusal, and a very stubborn dog.
It started with a shopping trip that went nowhere. Every collar in the store was either too stiff, too synthetic, or just completely soulless. Monki — who has very strong opinions — turned her nose up at all of them.
So we went home and made one. It took three attempts, a lot of unpicking, and one very patient dog. But when Monki finally wore it without immediately trying to remove it, something clicked.
We started making more. For friends' dogs. For neighbours. For strangers at the park who asked where we got that beautiful bandana. And slowly, Monko Paws became a real thing — a small, handmade brand built around the belief that pets deserve accessories made with the same care and intention as anything else you'd treasure.
Every kit we sell is the same kit we made for Monki that first time. The materials are better now. The instructions are clearer. But the spirit is identical: make something beautiful, make it yourself, and make it for someone you love.
